EatWell Camas

We strive to create equitable opportunities for folks in our community to connect to the land, to grow, to learn and to thrive.

Our Values

We strive to create equitable opportunities for folks in our community to connect to the land, to grow, learn and thrive. Our actions are rooted in environmental justice, accessibility and stewardship for the land.

We acknowledge that we have the great honor of creating this community space on the ancestral lands of the Indigeous peoples of the Cowlitz and Chinook Tribes. These Native people live here now and have lived here and cared for this land and all its living beings since time immemorial. We know that it is our duty and responsibility to show loving kindness and respect to the land we are using and all of the living beings upon it. We show respect by educating ourselves about Native people, plants and ways of growing in harmony with the land, taking care of the soil, the water and all living things in the garden.

We invite collaboration, and strive to foster relationships with local schools, businesses, students and our community in order to ensure meaningful engagement with those around us. We believe that education is important and will be working to offer workshops and support to all of our gardeners. We know that learning where the food we eat comes from and how to produce it is amazingly powerful and will be working with local schools to invite students to learn more about gardening.
